GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the primary role of the Logistics Coordinator I is to control the inbound movement of material to CKNA facilities through the coordination of various transportation modes. Also, develop effective transportation routings for premium freight shipments, and ensure the most efficient utilization of manning, material, and monies. Position is also responsible for all export and domestic miscellaneous shipments.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Control and monitor the inbound movement of material to all CKNA facilities through various modes of transportation daily in order to ensure timely and accurate delivery of material to support production.
• Coordinate with internal CKNA departments and external transportation contacts daily to ensure accurate communication and delivery on all shipments.
• Coordinate CKNA import shipments through Calsonic’s customs brokers daily in order to ensure accurate and timely delivery of shipments to support production.
• Coordinate all export domestic and miscellaneous shipments daily with receiving technicians in order to ensure material is exported timely to support customer deadlines.
• Monitor carrier manifests to ensure shipments are arriving based on carrier’s published transit times and evaluate carrier performance through the Supplier Rating program quarterly to utilize the best carriers for the company
• Monitor and report Late Supplier Deliveries and Premium Freight weekly to appropriate management and monthly PBM in order to track late deliveries to the 100% on-time supplier delivery target and reduce the PF cost to targeted amount.
• Negotiate premium freight rates, ensure documentation is received to charge back cost when necessary and monitor premium freight invoices to reduce freight cost.
• Transmit ASN’s to customers.
• Cube the truck for the next day Nissan shipments.
• Run pull sheets and labels for next day shipments.
• Check sequence and schedule what trucks to put sequence on.
• Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:

• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have up to two years experience in area of responsibility.
• Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
• Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
• Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
• Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
