Job Description


This position is to plan and direct the Maintenance Department, by shift, providing technical guidance and ensuring sound maintenance procedures to reduce equipment downtime in a fiscally prudent manner.


• Manage and supervise maintenance and skilled trades’ personnel in daily activities.
• Track machine improvements, modifications and downtime.
• Maintain facility and grounds.
• Coordinate jobs/projects with outside vendors/contractors.
• Maintain expense budgets and capital expenditures.
• Attend production meetings, task force meetings and manufacturing engineering conferences.
• Identify, source, purchase and maintain critical spare parts for equipment.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules and retain history in database.
• Work with Manufacturing and Engineering on machine improvements and poke-yokes.
• Tooling and fixturing manufacture and modification.
• Manage maintenance department attendance records.
• Maintain a union-free environment.
• Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts regarding various issues.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Job Requirements


The incumbent must:
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and zero (0) – two (2) years experience in related field -or-
• External – Associates Degree with 2 years supervisory / leadership experience – or - Non-Degreed with 4 years supervisory / leadership experience. -or-
• Internal Non-Degreed candidates must have one (1) year employment with CKNA and a minimum of five (5) years experience in a maintenance / technically related field.
• Certification may be required in some areas.
• Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
• Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
• Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
• Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint and other presentation applications and / or software.
