Job Description

Thermal Heat Exchange Engineer- General Summary

Project Engineer with the thermal heat exchange business unit, under general supervision, is responsible for planning, conducting, coordinating and performing various engineering duties on multiple projects-new and existing.

Thermal Heat Exchange Engineer- Specific job requirements

  • Experience working within automotive product development cycles.
  • Experience working within a global company (multi-regional) Asian OEM / suppliers are a plus.
  • Ability to proactively monitor and influence program status to satisfy quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Initiate and drive design related cost reduction into production.
  • Effectively apply required project management skills/tools to achieve successful project execution.
  • Ability to follow design release procedures and prepare documents for Design Review milestones (e.g. DFMEA, Design concept sheet, risk assessment, design change history log).
  • Work with engineering staff members at customer locations in the development of designs, specifications, and requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travel 10%-15% Domestic & International

 

Development Engineering Roles- ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Accepts engineering responsibility for all assigned projects.
• Must demonstrate good communication skills to coordinate activities with other departments, locations, suppliers, and customers.
• Must be proficient to create and understand engineering drawings and CAD data.
• Works with engineering staff members at customer locations in the development of designs, specifications, and requirements.
• Complete the various project activities within the established budget and completion dates.
• Assists manufacturing as requested in achieving cost targets, process improvement, meeting production schedules, and solving production problems.
• Depending on assignments, may be required to specify, procure, and/or develop test instrumentation, fixturing, and equipment for product evaluations.

Job Requirements

Role-Specific Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, 2-5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Understand thermodynamics - heat transfer and heat exchangers.
  • Proficient in MS office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
  • Good communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Goal oriented, self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team setting.

 

Development Engineering Roles- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must: 

• Certification required in some areas.
• Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
• Have good communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
• Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
• Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
